Galaxidi

Galaxidi is built on the site of the ancient city of Oianthia. The naval state goes back 4,000 years. Its people were among the many who helped a lot, the revolution of ’21.

There were many raids by conquerors (Slavs, Franks, Catalans, Knights of Rhodes, Turkish Pirates).

Galaxidi withstood these conquerors’ sweeping forces and now is one of the most beautiful settlements in Greece.

It was the first naval force before steamship.
